Introduction to Fundraising Planning

Atlanta

Introduction to Fundraising Planning will show you how to analyze your organization’s situation and develop a fundraising plan that will include a variety of revenue sources.

Free
75 minutes

A successful nonprofit organization needs to cultivate multiple revenue streams through sound financial planning. If your organization has never developed a fundraising plan or calendar, this new, hour-long session is for you. It provides an overview of the process of strategically thinking through the components of a fundraising plan. You'll learn how to:

  • Conduct an assets inventory.
  • Develop a case statement.
  • Identify fundraising partners.
  • Prepare a fundraising plan and calendar.

Special Presentation on October 16!
Following this class on October 16, join us for an introduction to preparing for and writing an effective fundraising letter. In this workshop, you will:

  • learn how to prepare your most powerful messages for your letter
  • learn options on how to format the letter in different ways depending on the kind of audience you have
  • learn how to track results of your fundraising letters
  • learn how to combine fundraising letters with a newsletter
Fundraising letters can be easy to create and are an important part of your organization’s overall fundraising strategy. However, with thousands of non-profits seeking support for worthy causes your fundraising letter needs to get its message across clearly, effectively, and distinctively. You will also learn about helpful web resources to get ideas and samples from.

This special presentation will be presented by Khurram Hassan, Partner, Hassan Deadwyler Consulting, LLC. Khurram Hassan has a Masters in Public Health from Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health. He has eight years of program experience in managing HIV/STI prevention services for at risk youth, as well as eight years at the United Way of Metro Atlanta as director of outcomes trainings and technical assistance for United Way funded programs and as director of funding strategies for all health and disabilities programs. Mr. Hassan’s diverse experiences positioned him well to begin a firm with his business partner, Jim Deadwyler, that assists nonprofits with grants research, writing, and fundraising.
