Presenter: Cayanna Collier-Good, Education Program Manager, Charter Schools Division, Georgia Department of Education

Cayanna Collier-Good’s extensive career in education began when she joined Teach For America in 1999, teaching secondary and elementary English in Houston, Texas. In 2002, Mrs. Collier-Good moved to Atlanta to pursue an advanced degree in school leadership. During her matriculation with Georgia State University, Cayanna worked closely with the Metro Atlanta Beginning Teacher Support and Induction Consortium as a graduate research assistant. Fueled with a strong desire to work closely on matters of teacher development and retention, Cayanna worked as a site manager for The New Teacher Project (TNTP), a role from which she launched and managed TNTP’s Teaching for Results Content Seminar Series initiative in Atlanta.

In her current position as Education Program Manager for the Georgia Department of Education’s Charter School Division, Cayanna coordinates projects devoted to collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data related to charter schools in Georgia, assisting in the publication of articles, grant preparation, analyzing state and federal statutes and regulations, coordination of the annual New Georgia Charter School Training conferences, and serving as an official representative for the Charter Schools Division on matters related to charter school grant funding.
