Gain knowledge about grantmakers, their grants, and all aspects of fundraising, philanthropy, and nonprofit management. We invite you to use our library where you can search for prospective foundation funders using the Foundation Directory Online Professional free of charge, along with our growing collection of books, periodicals, and other print and electronic resources.
New materials are always being added to the library and a sampling of the most recent additions can be found in the following list. To find more materials from the Cleveland library, search the Catalog of Nonprofit Literature.
Become a registered borrower anytime the library is open and become eligible to borrow up to two items from our lending collection. There are 3 ways in which you can lend books from the Foundation Center-Cleveland library:
1) You can select from a small collection of regularly-circulated books.
2) You can become a Friend of the Library for an annual fee and take out books that are under $35 from the rest of the library's collection.
3) You can check out High Demand books from the collection by putting collateral down in the form of a credit card, check or cash in the amount of the price of each book. HD books are identified by the orange star on their spine and can be found throughout the collection.
Requirements and procedures for registered borrowers:
Agree to comply with all library rules and regulations and to be accountable for any loss or damage to materials, assuming full responsibility for items borrowed under her or his name and committing to return them on time.
Up to two items may be borrowed for two weeks and checked out anytime during regular library hours.
Items must be returned to the library by closing time on the due date. If a holiday occurs, items must be returned by closing time on the following day.
An item will be considered overdue if it is not returned by 4:30 p.m. on the day it is due. Foundation Center staff will notify borrowers by phone or e-mail when items are overdue.
If an item is lost or damaged, the library will submit a bill to the borrower for full replacement cost, plus a $5 replacement fee. Until all fees are paid, borrowers will have their borrowing privileges denied.
