The New i3 Application & Priorities: A Roadmap for Education Funders

In this webinar, representatives from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Innovation and Improvement, Jim Shelton, Assistant Deputy Secretary, and Shivam Shah, Director of Special Initiatives, present the Department's new grant application and final notice for the $650 million Investing in Innovation (i3) Fund. Moderated by Suzanne Immerman, the Department's Director of Philanthropic Engagement, the presenters discuss and respond to questions about the chief components of the new application and priorities, significant changes made since the initial competition notice was issued last fall, and the unique role grantmakers can play in this process. The webinar was conducted as part of the Foundation Center's Foundations for Education Excellence initiative.
