This program focuses on the role of volunteers in the work of nonprofit organizations.
First, Meghan Moloney, senior director of programs for New York Cares, explains the history and work of New York Cares and introduces the Volunteer Engagement Scale survey and report recently conducted by the agency. She addresses the question, "What makes a successful volunteer program?" She also mentions NYC Service, a new effort to promote service and volunteerism in New York City and the report (PDF) that explains the mission of this recent initiative.
In the second part of the program, Eric Williams, assistant vice president of Credit Suisse Americas Foundation, talks about planning, managing, and evaluating corporate volunteer efforts and provides specifics about the Credit Suisse volunteer program.
