Profile of the author, Paul B. Firstenberg

As an executive, trustee, advisor, author, and teacher, Paul B. Firstenberg has extensive experience in all aspects of philanthropic enterprise. He was chancellor of Tulane University, Chief Financial Officer of Princeton University, Chief Operating Officer and trustee of Children's Television Workshop, and an officer of the Ford Foundation. In addition, he has served as consultant to, and trustee of, various nonprofit organizations and has taught nonprofit organization management at the Yale School of Management and Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School. He is the author of Managing for Profit in the Nonprofit World, and The 21st Century Nonprofit:Remaking the Organization in the Post-Government Era. Mr. Firstenberg is currently Executive Director of American ORT. ORT creates life-altering opportunities in over 50 countries, empowering people through education and vocational development.
