Search the Grantmaker File! The Basic Search Mode Basic Searching is designed for users new to FC Search, or for those who wish to use the most common search criteria: Grantmaker Name Grantmaker State Fields of Interest Trustees, Officers and Donors Text Search The first 4 of these search criteria have an associated index from which possible search terms can be selected. The 'Text Search' criterion, on the other hand, will search for words, zip codes, numbers, or phrases appearing anywhere within the grantmaker records. Using the Indexes Use the indexes to identify and select terms. To view an index, click on the rectangular search criterion name bar, or place your cursor in the search criterion entry box adjacent to the field you would like to use in your search, then click Index. Using either method, a scrollable index box will appear. Start typing the word(s) you are looking for, and you will move quickly to that area of the index list. Select a term from an index by highlighting it on the index list, then click the Accept button.
