Increase capacity for self-sufficiency services to low-income families in Arlington Hts. and nearby communities with creation of a fulltime case management position at Henry Kaufmann Neighborhood House to serve 30 individuals annually and facilitate onsite programs and referrals.
Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council $20,000

Improve the health outcomes of South Pittsburgh residents through a healthy literacy initiative which provides a health literacy class, integrates a health component into all literacy courses, and develops health literacy partnerships with community organizations to improve the health outcomes of the people they serve.
Hilltop Health Ministries/Mercy Foundation $30,000

Improve quality of life for hilltop home-centered elders, young adults and the community through leadership of a Program Coordinator and sustained and expanded collaborative health ministry programs.
Mother to Son Program /Small Seeds, Inc. $35,000

Assist single, African American mothers with sons ages 9-13 to strengthen their families through weekly support groups and ongoing case management at local site.
Mount Washington CDC $17,500
for 3rd &

Increase effectiveness in meeting the health/human service needs of Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights residents through increased capacity of CDC to identify and coordinate programs and services.
SIDS Alliance $28,500
for 2nd year
Reduce the risk of infant death and increase access to healthy sleep habits for babies through support of Cribs for Kids and outreach efforts over three years.
YouthPlaces/Tides $24,000
for 2nd &
final year
Increase positive activities for teens onsite in St. Clair Village through creation of satellite South Pittsburgh site and build community collaborations with Knoxville Middle site participants.
