CATHOLIC BIG SISTERS
(d/b/a Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers)

They use an integrated matrix of services that includes mentoring and after school programming, in addition to the sophisticated family systems counseling. The trainings will be open to all HUD funded programs, with intensive consultation services provided to two programs identified as low performers.

CFTSI is a brief, evidence-based intervention developed by the Yale University Child Study Center’s Childhood Violent Trauma Center designed to reduce the onset of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in children who have been exposed to potentially traumatic events. Given the effectiveness of Safe Horizon’s implementation of CFTSI for child victims age seven and older who reside with a parent/caregiver, they would like to make the necessary adaptations to offer the intervention to children in foster care age seven and older, as foster children represent about half of the children they serve in their CACs.
