INTERESTS AND PRIORITIES

Background: Established in 1992, the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund is a private foundation committed to providing support for charitable organizations that enhance our society.

Current Priorities: The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund’s interests include programs making valuable contributions in a variety of fields: children and youth, civic affairs, civil and human rights, education, environment, health, Jewish affairs, children’s literacy, and social and human services. In general, the Fund places highest priority on projects in the San Francisco area.

Limitations: The Fund will not consider applications for support for individual grants, documentaries, films, events, books and periodicals, research, deficit budgets, endowment campaigns, or conferences. In addition, the Fund does not accept proposals that it has not solicited requesting support for scholarships, arts and cultural organizations, or educational institutions.

Annual Grants: The Fund provides annual operating support to a specific list of organizations. New applications for annual support are not accepted.

Capital Funding: In order to be eligible for consideration for capital funding support, in addition to the criteria outlined below, organizations must demonstrate support of the campaign by 100% of the Board through personal financial contributions.

The Lisa and Douglas E. Goldman Philanthropic Fund: The Lisa and Douglas E. Goldman Philanthropic Fund is another charitable giving vehicle under the auspices of the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund.
