Mission statement:
To provide charitable grants to charitable and public organizations, tax-exempt
under Internal Revenue Code. To provide grants to assist in health care, medical research, local
and higher education, and community projects serving the community at large, all within the
boundaries of Utah. Trustees and committee members avoiding all confilicts of interest with grant
recipients.
GRANT GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES
- Grant committee will first require a summary letter from any applicants, stating their grant
requirements and proposed uses for grant (the letter must be specific), before considering
any applicant. A 501(c)(3) letter from the Internal Revenue Service will accompany the
summary letter.
- Trustees will not consider anything that is illegal, involves self dealing, small grant
recipients who provide minimum benefit to the community, political/action groups, and
recipients outside of the State of Utah.
- The grants are limited to the Utah area and are not to include any foreign recipients.
- The grant committee will receive all applications and communications from appIicants.
- Grant committee will select a committee member to work with a specific grant applicant.
- Grant committee will require financial statements audited, or compiled by a Certified
Public Accountant.
- Applicants are required to have the summary letter and grant application submitted to the
committee before December 3lst of each year to be considered by the Board of Trustees in
the annual meeting.
- The grant committee will respond to grant applicants within thirty (30) to sixty (60) days
after they request application to apply for a grant.
- The grant cornmittee will consider solicitations and invitation only from applicants.
