The Foundation supports projects that enrich the lives of youth by
- Strengthening families,
- Preventing crises for children and youth,
- Improving the academic education of children in grades K-12, and
- Promoting education in the arts.
The MFF deadlines are as follows:
| Spring Cycle: | Proposals are due March 15. Grant awards will be made in June. |
| Fall Cycle: | Proposals are due September 15. Grant awards will be made in December. |
Full or partial submissions by e-mail are accepted.
Funding requests can be for operating expenses or for specific projects.
No grants are made to individuals.
A site visit will be made after a grant is awarded. At the conclusion of the grant, recipients must provide a written evaluation describing how the funds were spent, using a provided evaluation form.
Report deadlines are as follows:
| Spring Cycle: | For awards made in December, the report deadline is September 15th. |
| Fall Cycle: | For awards made in June, the report deadline is March 15th. |
PROPOSALS MUST INCLUDE:
- A Cover Sheet with the following information:
- Name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and website of your organization
- Name, title, e-mail address, and telephone number of your contact person
- Brief purpose of your organization and mission statement
- Dates of your fiscal year
- Amount requested
- If project funding is requested, a one-paragraph summary of the purpose of the requested grant
- A narrative including:
- Information on your organization’s current goals and accomplishments
- If project funding is requested: a detailed description of the project, including
the project’s purpose, a detailed project budget explaining how the funds would be spent, the project’s design, number of participants, expected accomplishments, and the methods of evaluation.
- A detailed project budget that includes information on how the grant funds would be spent
- Two financial reports as of the final day of your most recently completed fiscal year (need not be audited but should be no older than 12 months). These reports are:
- A statement of actual revenues and expenses
- A balance sheet (also known as statement of financial position)
- A copy of your IRS determination letter, or an explanation of your tax-exempt status.
- A list of foundations that have made grants in the previous fiscal year.
- A Board of Directors list, including officers and their affiliations.
- Any additional information, such as brochures, newsletters, or newspaper clippings.
