The Foundation's grants primarily support activities in the United States. While many of these activities are national in scope, there is particular regional focus in New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Limited support is directed towards environmental conservation and reproductive health projects in northern Guatemala and southern Mexico.

The mission of the Prospect Hill Foundation
is to advance the human experience while
ensuring the well-being of the earth.

The Foundation pursues this mission by making grants in four program areas, each of which has stated goals:

• to support conservation strategies that protect natural systems
• to improve air quality for the benefit of human and ecological health

• to limit the spread of nuclear weapons by providing reliable information to U.S. policy makers, the media, and the public

• to support the right of women and men to be informed of and have access to safe, effective, affordable and acceptable methods of fertility regulation of their choice

• to promote a fair and humane criminal justice system

In addition, the Foundation makes a number of Core Grants that support the general philanthropic interests and goals of Prospect Hill Foundation directors and their family.
