The mission of the Ravenswood Health Care Foundation is to award grants that foster, promote, support, develop and encourage community health and wellness in the greater Ravenswood area of Chicago. The current Ravenswood Health Care Foundation giving program arose out of the merger of the former Ravenswood Medical Center into Advocate Health Care. In 1999, Advocate began to contribute $1 million per year to the Foundation. Although the Medical Center has since closed, the Foundation will continue to benefit the Ravenswood and surrounding communities. The Foundation will grant $1 million per year through 2017.
