Application Guidelines

INFORMATION FOR GRANT APPLICANTS
Turrell Fund grants are awarded to agencies rendering direct service to disadvantaged children in the State of Vermont, and in four counties in New Jersey: Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union.

Our Online Application System

Effective July 1, 2008, all applications for Turrell Fund grants are to be submitted on-line. This applies to prospective grantees and existing grantees alike.

Submission Deadlines

The Board of Trustees considers requests in the Spring and in the Fall.

SPRING CYCLE
Applications accepted January 1 – February 1

FALL CYCLE
Applications accepted July 1 – August 1

Late proposals will not be accepted.


Required Attachments

The following documents are to be submitted as attachments to your online application:

  • Copy of the IRS determination letter of the organization, usually a 501(c)(3) , and specifying whether they are a 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3) organization;
  • Form 990 and Audited Financial Statement for the most recent year available;
  • Organization’s operating budget for the coming year;
  • List of the names of the organization’s Board of Directors and their affiliations; and,
  • Expense and income budget for the particular project or program.

All required attachments can be submitted online. If your organization is not able to submit one or more of the attachments online, you must provide delivery to our office through the regular mail or other delivery service (UPS, Fedex, etc.).

In all circumstances, please be sure to leave ample time for your attachments to reach us by the published deadline. Due to the volume of proposals we receive, the Fund cannot be expected to make exceptions for late-arriving proposal attachments.


PLEASE NOTE: Should any one of the items listed above be omitted, the grant request will not be considered. Do not provide any additional materials after the deadline, unless so requested.
