New York, N.Y.—The Foundation Center, the nation's foremost authority on foundation and corporate philanthropy, has announced major product enhancements to the Foundation Directory Online, the premier online funding research tool for grantseekers, grantmakers, and other researchers, located at www.fconline.fdncenter.org. For the first time, subscribers can easily discover the foundation affiliations of over a quarter of a million prominent people in the field of philanthropy with the addition of a new Trustees, Officers, and Donors search field. Moreover, a new navigation tool substantially reduces research time by allowing users to move swiftly from record to record within foundation and grants search results lists. A New Way to Discover Philanthropic Connections The newly added Trustees, Officers, and Donors search field and its corresponding index allow users to quickly and accurately search among 285,000 trustee, officer and donor names in the Foundation Directory Online Platinum plan. The most comprehensive plan available in the suite of Foundation Directory Online subscription products, the Foundation Directory Online Platinum contains more than 68,000 foundation records and more than 150,000 grant records. The Trustees, Officers, and Donors index lists all key foundation officials alphabetically by last name, followed by the first name and initials. It takes only seconds to select a name from the index and search for the foundation affiliations of a particular individual. "In our most recent survey of Foundation Directory Online subscribers, we received multiple requests for a 'people locator' that would help those conducting research on the field gain a better understanding of who's who and who's where at the nation's foundations," said Joyce Infante, the Center's Vice President for Marketing and Product Development. While this option is still available, users now can save substantial time by remaining in the view record mode and simply clicking on the forward arrow to advance to the next record in the list or clicking on the back arrow to view the previous record.
