Foundation Center Focuses on Funding for the Arts All Month Long

Special Events, Unique Online Resources, and More

New York, NY — October 13, 2008. Throughout October, the Foundation Center is offering special events, classes, and web resources aimed at helping artists and nonprofit arts organizations become better grantseekers and increase their funding. At all five Center locations — Atlanta, Cleveland, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC — participants can network with fellow artists and colleagues, discover fundraising strategies, and gain insight into what's happening in the local arts funding community.

Visitors to the Center's web site will find a special interactive feature with data, news, and research on arts funding — a "one-stop shop" of free, easily accessible information including:

  • easy-to-use interactive maps and charts that show the geographic locations and giving interests of grantmakers supporting the arts throughout the nation
  • news, interviews, book reviews, job postings, and RFP listings from the Center's Philanthropy News Digest
  • Foundation Center research and statistics on arts funding and, through the Center's PubHub service, online reports on the arts published by foundations and nonprofit organizations
  • the latest listings of live events, classes, and webinars hosted by our five regional centers, as well as podcasts and recorded programs in our online Events Archive

"Combining events and activities in all of our offices with a wealth of web tools and resources makes this our most comprehensive Arts Month ever," said Janet Camarena, director of the Foundation Center's San Francisco office.
