The Foundation Center's Training Annex

The Foundation Center's new, state-of-the-art Training Annex, conveniently located in the heart of New York City's historic Flatiron district, is a multi-functional facility, ideal for foundations, other nonprofit organizations, or any group looking for space in which to host meetings, conferences, seminars, and computer-based training programs.

Adjacent to the Center's newly renovated headquarters library, the Training Annex includes meeting rooms, a computer lab, a reception area, and a catering pantry. A full range of technical support services are available, and the facility is wheelchair accessible and fully compliant with all other Americans with Disabilities Act specifications.

The meeting space may be used as one large room that can accommodate up to 70 people; it also offers the flexibility of being divided into two smaller meeting rooms with a capacity of up to 20 or 30 people respectively. Seating can be configured in several ways, including theater, classroom, and Board room style arrangements. Each room is equipped with a projector, screen, instructor's computer, microphone, TV/VCR, podium, and telephone.

Computer Lab

The computer lab seats up to 24 trainees and one instructor and is fully equipped to handle a wide range of technologically sophisticated presentations and training programs. Each of the high-speed Dell Pentium computers runs Windows 98 and is equipped with T1 circuit Internet access and integrated sound and video cards. Each terminal is complemented by a 15-inch flat-screen monitor, providing versatility and convenience to the individual user. Like the large meeting room, the computer lab is equipped with a ceiling-mounted projector for easy display of program materials on a motorized screen and the same comprehensive package of audio/visual equipment and accessories.

Registration/Reception Area

Rental of the meeting rooms or computer lab includes access to an adjacent registration/reception area. Light and spacious, it offers a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for receiving program participants and offering refreshment breaks. Registration and refreshment tables and cafe-style seating are available, as are coat closets and additional coat racks for larger groups.

The Training Annex pantry includes a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, sink, and generous counter space. Catering may be arranged with an outside contractor, or the Foundation Center may be retained to provide full coffee and tea service for up to 70 people.
