Duke University Women's Studies Program Receives $3 Million Gift

Red Hat software company co-founder Marc Ewing and wife Lisa Yun-Lee donated $3 million to the Women's Studies Program at Duke University. The gift will be used to fund five department fellowships and one professorship. Lee, who graduated from Duke with a Ph. D. this year, said the fellowships include a teaching fellowship, a dissertation writing fellowship, a research fellowship and a post-doctoral fellowship shared with the German department. The donation may be the largest individual gift to a women's studies program at a private university.
