finds.
Communicating Modeled Information for Adaptation Decision Making
(12 pages, PDF), a case study of a project that recommended climate mitigation strategies for the distribution of water resources in northern India, describes consultations where local stakeholders at the state, district, and community levels shared their views on key hazards, vulnerabilities, impacts, and adaptive capacities. Those views were then supplemented by discussions of model-generated scenarios. Ultimately, the project team developed four strategies for disseminating information to stakeholders: present information through semi-structured interviews and workshops; localize information by providing site-specific material in vernacular languages; be short and clear with targeted information; and present uncertainties clearly through "what if" scenarios.
