Single Stop USA - Chief Development Officer
Single Stop USA seeks a seasoned Chief Development Officer to strategically guide, implement and grow Single Stop’s fundraising initiatives including major gifts, individual donors and foundation and corporate funders. Working closely with the CEO, COO and the Board of Directors, he/she will systematically harness the fundraising potential of Single Stop and drive a culture of philanthropy. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to play a leadership role at Single Stop and cultivate a comprehensive, high-performing fundraising program to support Single Stop’s ambitious goals.
Reporting directly to the CEO, and working collaboratively with Single Stop’s senior managers and board of directors, the Chief Development Officer will strategically guide, implement and grow Single Stop’s fundraising initiatives including major gifts, individual will be responsible for the implementation of Single Stop’s fundraising strategy including growth capital campaign; and will lead a development team in planning, managing and implementing fund development strategies.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with the CEO, COO and Board of Directors to grow Single Stop’s development program.

Plan and direct fund development activities, including a growth capital campaign to secure funding for Single Stop’s strategic priorities.

Lead a fundraising team to solicit and secure funds and resources including major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, individual appeals and special events.

Develop strategy to substantially grow Single Stop’s donor base in the coming years by launching innovative campaigns and developing new strategies to engage high net worth individuals and their family foundations.

Secure annual national revenues at the multi-million dollar level including new major ($1M+) foundation, corporate and individual partners.

Cultivate, solicit and steward current major individual donors.

Develop a balanced funding mix of donor sources and solicitation programs tailored to the needs of the organization.

Engage the Board of Directors in Single Stop’s overall fundraising activities and substantially increase and promote board fundraising and strategic support.

Lead the development of customized investment proposals and other specialized materials for potential donors.

In conjunction with the CEO and senior staff chart the organization's course in fund development.

Create short- and long-range fund development plans and programs that support the organization’s values, mission and general objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will be a sophisticated, high performing and experienced fundraising professional able to lead, build and manage a fundraising program with complex programmatic components. A strategic thinker, he/she will be ambitious in setting fundraising goals and driving them towards completion. He/she will have the ability to analyze an existing development effort, to think strategically about its strengths and needs, and to develop and execute plans to maximize philanthropic dollars raised.

Successful track record of planning and executing fundraising initiatives and managing development departments, as well as all stages of major individual and/or institutional gifts including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

A successful track record of personally identifying, cultivating and closing major gifts ranging from $25,000 to over $1 million from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Broad and deep knowledge of the myriad components that comprise a successful program, including annual, capital, major, corporate, and foundation giving.

Well-honed board relations and engagement skills.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; articulate and persuasive with the ability to craft resonant messaging both internally and externally.

Comprehensive leadership and management skills and experience including short and long-term planning and directing and motivating staff.

Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and implementing a comprehensive fund development program.

Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree a plus.
