The David Lynch Foundation seeks a part-time temporary Database Assistant to be responsible for entering and maintaining accurate gift and donor records in the donor database and for assisting Development staff to use donor data effectively.
As part of the preparation and execution phase of a development department database migration, this position will be responsible for cleaning up existing constituent data and preparing for uploading into new database solution.
This is a temporary position for the next 3-4 months, with possibility for extension.
Essential Responsibilities:

Enter new records and update records in the donor database. To include: gifts, pledges, donor records and demographics, event registrations, contact reports, etc.;

Produce and mail pledge reminders and acknowledgements;

Generate lists for annual campaign mailing;

Generate accurate reports as needed for development staff;
- Create and run necessary reports and queries to enable a full analysis of current data in the current neon system;
- Quickly analyze existing data: update records, merge and delete duplicate records and bring existing data up to established data standards, while maintaining data integrity;

Create queries, exports, and mailing lists as needed for development activities;
- Assist the Development team in setting data standards for uniformity of data entry and ease of future reporting;

Support other users with database troubleshooting and data extraction;

Assist in developing written best practice data standards to be maintained by all development staff.
The Database Assistant will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with the development database systems of a mid- to large-sized not-for-profit institution. Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in rapid data entry is required. Experience in working in a best practices environment, working with a standard development database such as: Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge, Tessitura, etc., strongly desired.
Also required is the ability to work with minimal supervision using independent discretion and judgment and the flexibility required to support time-sensitive functions of financial development activities (such as special events).

This is a part-time, hourly position based in the New York City offices of the Foundation in Midtown Manhattan. Hourly compensation of $12-$17/hour depending on experience.
