Virginia Health Care Foundation - Director of Fund Development and Communications
The Director of Fund Development and Communications is responsible for monitoring and expanding the Virginia Health Care Foundation’s fund development and external communications programs. This position is responsible for identifying and implementing strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a diverse base of private funders. This position also works to create a strong, unified identity for VHCF and to raise awareness of VHCF’s programs and successes with public and private funders, the media, state policymakers, state agencies, grantees, other partners, and the general public.
Areas of responsibility include: 1) implementation and evaluation of VHCF’s fund development plan; 2) development, implementation and evaluation of VHCF’s communications plan; 3) planning and oversight of signature events; 4) supervision of VHCF’s Fund Development & Communications Coordinator; 5) staffing the Board’s Fund Development and External Affairs Committees; and 5) developing and working within a program budget.
The Director of Fund Development and Communications reports to the Executive Director and is a part of VHCF’s management team, which includes the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Director of Finance and the Director of Administration and Technology.
