Professional Level: Position is professional level, supervised by Associate Director for Grants and Director
Qualifications: Office of Sponsored Programs is seeking a professional level person to provide assistance in the development of research grants and serve on the OSP team.
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in working as a part of a goal oriented team
- Experience in developing and working with faculty teams in higher education
- Knowledge of research grant components and review criteria
- Successful experience in the development of research proposals to federal agencies and foundations
- The ability to assist faculty in securing research proposals in science and mathematics
- Strong research and proposal writing skills
- Knowledge of program design, data analysis, and evaluation design
- Strong skills in interpersonal/human relations, leadership, and organization/planning
- Ability to operate personal computer and manage database information
- Experience in developing and conducting professional development workshops
Desired:
- Master’s degree
- Proven experience in research grant development
- Knowledge of grant proposal submission requirements for the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health and other research funding agencies
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the development of faculty research grant writing teams.
- Assist faculty in the writing and submission of research grant applications.
- Work directly with faculty in research proposal development, including collection of data, editing and proofreading.
- Develop standard sections, templates, and online resources that support research proposal development and submission process.
- Facilitate the development of collaborations and partnerships within the University, as well as, with research intense institutions and the community.
- Review and facilitate the submission of research proposals to ensure compliance with University and federal policies and procedures.
- Maintain computer databases and project files.
- Assist with professional development for faculty and staff, including providing information related to technical workshops and webinars by federal agencies.
- Actively participate in the activities of the Office of Sponsored Programs and the University.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary: Dependent upon training and experience; includes excellent benefits package
