The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Development department seeks qualified candidates for its Director of Donor Records and Research position. The Director provides collaborative leadership and direction for CMA’s advancement services program including managing the direct oversight for the areas of gift processing, prospect research, and database management. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating the creation and maintenance of a scalable suite of prospect research services and products; overseeing the timely and accurate processing of philanthropic gifts and grants; managing assigned personnel; contributing broadly to all aspects of the fulfillment of the Museum’s mission and growth; and interacting professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and five to seven years’ experience providing information service delivery to development, alumni relations, marketing, communication or media relations. Competence in developing and implementing prospect management services, management information tools, data mining, and data modeling as well as previous experience in non-profit fundraising preferred. Progressively responsible experience in information technology or information services at a large, multi-unit organization and experience with major system conversions of development software is required. Candidates must possess the ability to excel within a large, comprehensive, and dynamic Museum advancement division. Art historical knowledge and familiarity with museum operations is a plus.
