Managing Director

The Foundation for Art & Healing is seeking a senior level professional with solid organization management experience and a deep interest in creative expression and healthcare. This post reports directly to the Board of Directors of the foundation, working closely with the President of the Board/Founder. The position is full time, but candidates with at least 20 hours/week availability will be considered.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self starter with strong organization, communication and inter-personal skills; and comfortable working outside a structured work environment, bringing goals and objectives to fruition. Energetic and enterprising, s/he will be innovative and results oriented with the ability to adapt new challenges and opportunities to the existing program and mission. This individual is comfortable working to implement the vision of the President of the Board. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide program and project leadership and management
  
• Establish and nurture relationships with existing and potential organizational partners
  
• Drive fundraising efforts -- individual donors, corporate sponsors and foundation/government grant support
  
• Develop marketing and PR outreach program, including direction of online communities and social media
  
• Participate in ongoing strategic planning and goal setting
  
• Manage the active and engaged governing Board of Directors and multiple high-profile Advisory Boards
  
• Manage day-to-day foundation activities and all vendors/independent contractors
  
• Maintain oversight for the Foundation's financial condition and record-keeping; develop annual and project budgets in concert with the Board

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor's degree. Master's degree in Business, Public Health, Fine Arts, or a field relevant to the work of the organization is considered an asset.
  
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience at a senior level with solid experience and proven track record in new venture development. Experience in the field of public health, creative arts, and/or community development is desirable.
  
• Excellent writing skills with proficiency in preparing grant proposals, reports, marketing material, and general business correspondence
  
• Residency in the Northeast Corridor (Washington, DC to Boston)
  
• Ability to work effectively outside a traditional office setting and with minimal supervision.
  

Compensation -- commensurate with experience, with a range from $50K to $70K; pro-rated for part time
