Center for Health Care Strategies - Program Associate, Child Health Quality

The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) is a nonprofit health policy resource center located near Princeton, NJ. CHCS is dedicated to improving health care quality for low-income children and adults, people with chronic illnesses and disabilities, frail elders, and racially and ethnically diverse populations experiencing disparities in care. To achieve its mission, CHCS works directly with state and federal agencies, health plans, providers, and consumer groups to develop innovative programs that better serve people with complex and high-cost health care needs.

Position Overview

The Program Associate - Child Health Quality position will work with senior staff to develop and manage initiatives to deliver technical assistance to States participating in multi-year quality improvement collaboratives aimed at improving access to and outcomes of care for children enrolled in Medicaid and involved with other publicly financed programs such as child welfare and juvenile justice. The position will work directly with state agencies and other stakeholders who are implementing innovative approaches to care for children with complex needs served by multiple systems, and contribute to the development of technical assistance resources, assist with project management, and support research efforts to inform the work of the child health quality team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to develop, launch, and implement program initiatives.
  • Conduct research and analyses (qualitative and quantitative) in areas of delivery system reform, payment reform, accountable care organizations, and value-based purchasing.
  • Write and edit internal and external publications and presentations.
  • Support the day-to-day project management of program initiatives, which may include the monitoring of grant deliverables and outcomes, tracking technical assistance activities, and synthesizing information from project teams.
  • Respond to ad-hoc research requests from staff across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a behavioral health, public health, health policy or related area.
  • Two years of related work experience in the child behavioral health or other public child serving systems.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.

Salary and Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience and education level. CHCS also offers a highly competitive benefit package.
