American Israel Public Affairs Committee - Area Direcor- Bergen, Rockland, Riverdale
The Area Director is responsible for overseeing all grassroots, political and development outreach in Bergen County, NJ, Rockland, NY and Riverdale, Bronx. These responsibilities include educating activists about American and Israeli political developments, teaching activists how to be effective pro-Israel advocates in the political arena, inspiring people to become pro-Israel activists, while continuing to work with our current base of activists.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and execute meetings and events:
- A series of educational briefings
- Several community-wide events per year
- Parlor meetings and outreach to new prospects
- Annual fundraising events for major donors
- Develop AIPAC’s volunteer lay leadership structure:
- Cultivating and recruiting new members to participate in pro-Israel activism
- Working with and strengthening the existing relationships with AIPAC members
- Recruiting members for national and regional programs
- Manage and achieve annual fundraising goals in the various divisions.
- Coordinate and execute annual development plan, which includes face-to-face solicitations of major donors
- Deliver speeches and briefings on American and Israeli politics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or commensurate experience Five+ year’s work experience in related field, or commensurate experience
- Working knowledge of Jewish communities strongly preferred
- Understanding of American politics and political systems
- Strong passion for Israel and the U.S.-Israel relationship
- Proven track record in face-to-face solicitations
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Effective public speaker
- Experience in non-profit organizations preferred
