Rainforest Alliance - IT Support Assistant, Finance and Administration

The Rainforest Alliance is an international nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. Based in New York City, with offices throughout the United States and worldwide, the Rainforest Alliance works with people whose livelihoods depend on the land, helping them transform the way they grow food, harvest wood and host travelers.

Position Summary:

The IT Support Assistant will provide first level support for customized Rainforest Alliance applications and systems. This includes the analyzing, prioritizing and troubleshooting of user requests related to the organization’s infrastructure and enterprise systems in accordance with current IT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Basic Tier 1 Support

  • Serve as first point of contact for end-user system issues and general requests;
  • Create and maintain new user and existing accounts for enterprise and program/department specific systems such as Salesforce, Luminate, also includes the deactivation of accounts for termed staff; creates organization-wide email accounts; and
  • Provide general Salesforce orientation and training for new users.

Change Control/Issue Management

  • Analyze changes requests for cross-program/departmental systems;
  • Communicate any potential and subsequent impacts that may arise from changes to key stakeholders and users;
  • Responsible for documenting change processes, in addition to requests and approvals for changes; and
  • Coordinate communication efforts for project-based activities.

Management of Requests

  • Maintain and track all user requests; produce and work with mass email, mail merges, dashboards;
  • Create custom reports for changes;
  • Escalate advanced or higher level systems issues to the appropriate parties; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Technology or related field;
  • 1-2 years of professional and relevant work experience;
  • Demonstrated interest in the Information Technology field;
  • Exceptional customer service skills;
  • Strong analytical abilities, initiative and problem solving approach is required;
  • Exceptional communication, follow-up, motivation, presentation and training skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Spanish language proficiency is desirable.
