Senior Manager of Employee Giving & Volunteerism


Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager of Employee Giving and Volunteerism is for Corporate and Employee Giving will create an integrated strategy for sponsorships and service and establish an overall volunteerism approach that better engages our approximately 12,000 employees and meets emerging business needs. The Senior Manager will interact closely with senior leaders from across Genentech to support the company as a great place to work.


He/she will apply deep subject matter expertise to establish customized service and volunteerism practices that address business challenges including recruitment, retention and skills development as well as enhancing corporate reputation and general employee engagement. The candidate will drive a cross-functional effort to identify strengths, assess gaps and offer solutions that are unique to Genentech. He/she will ensure understanding of operational issues, actively identify strategic opportunities, recommend decision frameworks and present to senior management.

Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years’ experience directly related to corporate philanthropy, employee volunteerism, or public/private partnerships is required. Experience running in-house volunteerism programs is preferred. Significant expertise in philanthropic & volunteerism best practices is required. Skill and experience in utilizing emerging social and digital communications technologies is required.
