San Francisco Library/Learning Center
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Foundation Center's mission is to strengthen the social sector by advancing knowledge about philanthropy in the U.S. and around the world. The San Francisco library/learning center is a private facility open to visitors seeking information related to philanthropy, fundraising, and nonprofit management. Staff members provide extensive reference assistance and training on related topics. The library/learning center is not intended to be used as an office, recreational area, or public space.
COMPUTER/INTERNET POLICY
Use of computers is limited to research on philanthropy, fundraising, and nonprofit management.
Visitors may not use computers to visit general interest web sites or for any other purpose unrelated to Foundation Center research.
Usage of the library's 22 public computers is available on a first come, first served basis.
No WiFi (Wireless) is available on the premises.
A maximum of 100 records may be saved to flash drive; exceeding this limit is a violation of copyright. Files may be downloaded or saved to the hard drive or desktop. All files unnecessary to workstation operation are deleted on a regular basis.
Printing from computers is $.10 per page, as are copies made from the copier. A maximum of 100 records may be printed; exceeding this limit is a violation of copyright.
The library reserves the right to deny computer privileges to anyone who misuses the computer equipment or does not follow the established computer policies and procedures.
VISITOR POLICY
When visiting the Foundation Center-San Francisco for the first time, please stop by the reference desk. A staff member will be happy to sign you in.
Visitors are expected to follow staff instructions and to treat staff and other library users with courtesy. Disruptive or threatening speech or conduct will not be tolerated.
No eating or drinking is permitted.
Cell phones maybe used in the hallway outside of the library and learning center.
