in Croatia.

physical therapy in Slavonski Brod's general hospital,
which
is in Croatia. Vucinic sent her "story"
to us on October 19, 2002.
What kind
of philanthropy did you participate in?
Vucinic
I work with disabled children using physical therapy. It is my job, and it reflects
my love towards disabled children and their families.
How long
have you been involved in this work?
Vucinic:
I have worked with disabled children for over 20 years.
Where do you work?
Vucinic:
I work in our general hospital, which is called Dr.Josip Benčević, in Slavonski
Brod, in Croatia. I work in the children’s department.
Do you
work anywhere else?
Vucinic:
I do voluntary work at an association for stimulating the healthy development
of children and youth in my town.
What is
the best thing about your job?
Vucinic:
I very much enjoy learning about the experiences experts from around the world
who work with disabled children. I lean a lot from exchanging information on
this subject.
What
is the hardest part of your work?
Vucinic:
The hardest of my volunteer work is finding sponsors who wish to support the
work of a nonprofit organization devoted to helping disabled children. It’s
hard to find funding for children with special needs. It is a tragedy because
disabled children and their families deserve and need our help.
What
would you say to someone else who is thinking
of getting involved with some kind of philanthropy?
Vucinic:
Everybody must open their own heart for others.
